Pokémon Sword and Shield (in English: Pokémon Sword & Shield), known in Japan as Pocket Monsters Sword & Shield.They are two role-playing video games developed by Game Freak and published by Nintendo and The Pokémon Company for Nintendo Switch. They are the first games of the eighth generation of the main Pokémon series. The video games had their worldwide launch on November 15, 2019.I have also succeeded in their graphics improvement over their predecessor games
Game mode
Pokémon Sword and Shield are role-playing video games with adventure elements, presented in third person, with aerial perspective. The player controls a young coach who goes on a quest to catch and train creatures known as Pokémon, and win battles against other trainers. By defeating the enemy Pokémon in turn battles, the player's Pokémon gain experience, allowing them to level up and increase their battle statistics, learn new battle techniques and, in some cases, evolve into more powerful Pokémon. Players can capture wild Pokémon, found during random encounters, weakening them in battle and trapping them with PokéBalls, allowing them to add them to their team.
Plot
Sword and Shield are held in the Galar region (a region based in the United Kingdom), an extension of large and tall land, and one of the many regions of the Pokémon world. The region itself and its many landmarks seem to be strongly inspired by Britain.The games follow the traditional trend of three initials: Plant-type Grookey, Fire-type Scorbunny and Water-type Sob
Development
Originally, the games were teased through a special message from the president of The Pokémon Company, Tsunekazu Ishihara, during the presentation of Nintendo E3 2017, where Ishihara mentioned that Game Freak was working on a new Pokémon role-playing game for Nintendo Switch, but that would not launch for more than a year.
During a press conference held by The Pokémon Company in Japan on May 30, 2018, Junichi Masuda director in charge of this project confirmed that the next new Pokémon Core Series game will be released on Nintendo Switch in the second half of 2019. Ishihara also assured that the next title does not have influences of Pokémon Go like Let's Go, Pikachu! and Let's Go, Eevee! and that would introduce many new Pokémon and "polished" graphics
Promotion and launch
Sword and Shield were announced in a special Nintendo Direct presentation on February 27, 2019, presenting the game region and the initial Pokémon.4 The presentation coincided with Pokémon Day, a celebration of Pokémon fans on the anniversary of the Japanese launch of Red and Green Pokémon.
A second Nintendo Direct about the game was held on June 5, 2019, which revealed some of its new features, characters and Pokémon, including the legendary Pokémon Zacian and Zamazenta, which appear in the art box. The release date of November 15, 2019 was also announced as part of this Direct.
